From a shared idea to a Kannada community in Germany.

The wish to form an association for the Kannada community in Frankfurt had been growing for some time.

In mid-2015, the Consulate General of India invited regional Indian associations to national events. The absence of Kannada representation renewed the motivation to create an association for Kannada-speaking people in the Frankfurt Rhein-Main region.

Kannada Sneha Koota brought Kannada-speaking families together to discuss the association, its objectives and its office bearers. The enthusiastic response led to the formation of Rhein Main Kannada Sangha (RMKS).

The association was registered under German by-laws in March 2016 and committed itself to serving the community. Today, this shared connection continues through culture, learning and friendship.
